Light Music (Age Group: 5 years and above)

1. Introduction to Music:
- Basic understanding of music theory (notes, scales,
rhythm).
- Familiarization with different styles of light music like
Bhakthi Geethe, Bhava geethe , Janapada geethe ( folk style
)
2. Vocal Training:
- Vocal warm-ups and exercises for improving tone, range,
and clarity.
- Breath control and vocal projection techniques.
3. Introduction to Ragas:
- Learning basic ragas and
- Understanding how ragas influence light music.
4. Rhythm (Taal) Practice:
- Introduction to simple rhythmic cycles like Adi Taal and
Rupak Taal.
- Clapping and counting exercises to internalize rhythm.
5. Songs in Light Music:
- Learning popular light music songs across various genres
(film, devotional, folk).
- Singing light classical-based film songs or bhajans.
- Practice of regional or folk songs based on cultural
preferences.
6. Improvisation:
- Simple improvisation techniques using alaaps and
sargams.
- Adding personal creativity and expression to songs.
7. Performance Techniques:
- Focus on stage presence, confidence, and delivering with
expression.
- Singing with accompaniments like harmonium, keyboard, or
backing tracks.
8. Application of Indian Classical Elements
- Incorporating small classical improvisations into
songs.
9. Song Repertoire:
- Regular practice of light classical, semi-classical, and
raga-based songs.
